babywearing

In the in-arms-phase, you will carry your baby all the time.

There are different way to carry your baby:

~ in arms
~ in a woven wrap
~ in a mei-tai
~ in a baby carrier (manduca, ergo)

All of these methods have their advantages.

I personally have chosen woven wraps (although there is no obligation to limit yourself to one of those ways of carrying your baby).

I highly recommend Didymos wraps. The quality is fantastic, and they have so much choice for different designs. You can buy a used one, too, they are literally indestructible. Once you get good at wrapping your baby (something that can take time!), it will probably the most comfy way of babywearing.

You can learn wrapping techniques via good youtube tutorials, from the manuals that come with your wrap, or by consulting a professional babywearing consultant.

I have done almost everything with youtube. Some tutorials are fantastic!

In the beginning you will probably want to carry your baby in front. When your baby is three to four months old and has good head control, you can wrap him/her on your back. I also like to carry my dd on my hip, especially for shorter trips.

Ring slings are fantastic, too, because wrapping your baby this way is very quick.
