co-sleeping

Co-sleeping does not only feel wonderful, it is also very safe for your child.

I encourage you to do all the research you need in ordner to know where your child will sleep.

As a breastfeeding mother, you will instinctively know if your child is fine and if he/she needs something. In case you cannot/do not breastfeed, a little caution might be necessary.

Also, if you have been smoking during pregnancy or are still smoking now, do your research because this is another risk factor.

The same goes for alcohol comsumption and drug use. Both will slow down your reactions while you sleep so you make not be able to be fully "alert" while sleeping with your baby.

This article is a good place to start:

I personally was worried I might pull the blanket up so much that I would cover my baby's face. I did put her at the top of my bed, and I myself slept a little "lower", so her head would be closer to the top of the bed than mine. Which was helpful because I don't pull the blanket over my own face. This way the blanket did cover her body but never her face. Also, she was born in summer so we needed very little to keep warm at night. This might be different for everyone.
